The climate for design has never been better, consumers are paying for better design and companies have begun to respond. Manufacturers like Apple and Proctor&Gamble are relying on design to add value, while retailers like Target and Lowes have integrated design into their business strategy. In addition, design is understood to be a contributor to top-line revenue growth - The Design Council UK tracked 65 British companies and found that those that used design effectively outperformed the FTSE (UK stock market) and the FTSE 100, by 200%. |

The District fosters a culture focused on design and innovation – which will benefit many industries in the region.
